Study about mental health after release from incarceration

Are you willing to complete an online survey about your mental health after release from incarceration? You may be eligible to complete an online survey that will help us understand experiences of mental health following incarceration, including experiences of posttraumatic stress and moral injury (e.g., perpetrating or witnessing acts of transgression that violate deeply held moral beliefs and expectations).

You May Qualify If You Are

  • Over the age of 18 years
  • Formerly incarcerated
  • Speak English fluently

Potential Benefits

  • There are no direct benefits to participants.

Participation Involves

  • Completing an online survey.
  • It should take 45 minutes or less to complete the survey.

Compensation: Participants will be provided a $20 gift card for completing the survey.

Payment is not contingent on completing all of the questions.

Study about mental health and substance use treatment after release from incarceration

Are you willing to share your experience with mental health or substance use treatment after release from incarceration? You may be eligible for a one-to-one interview for a study that will help us provide recommendations to improve access to mental health and substance use treatment for formerly incarcerated people in CT.

You May Qualify If You Are

  • Over the age of 18 years
  • Formerly incarcerated in Connecticut
  • Must Speak English fluently

Potential Benefits

Participating in this study may help improve access to mental health and substance use treatment for people incarcerated and returning home from incarceration in CT. Participation Involves

  • 60-90-minute interview in person or via Zoom to share your thoughts and experiences
  • Interviews are recorded and confidential.

Location: Connecticut

Participants will be compensated $40 per interview through a gift card.

Study about Incarceration and Sleep

Were you recently released from jail or prison?

You may be eligible to participate in a study about sleep during incarceration and after release.

You may qualify if you are:

  • 18 years or older
  • Released from jail or prison in the past year

Participation involves:

  • Participants will be compensated.
  • Participating in an interview about your sleep during incarceration and since your release.
  • One interview lasting about 60 minutes.

Study about Prisons, Jails, Halfway Houses, and Sleep

Do you work in a jail, prison, or halfway house in CT? We want to hear from you.

If you work in a jail, prison, or halfway house, you may be eligible to participate in a study about sleep of those who live and work in these facilities.

You may qualify if you:

  • Are 18 years or older
  • Have you worked in a jail, prison, halfway house in the past year

Potential benefits:

  • Participants may be compensated (based on employer restrictions).

Participation involves:

  • Participating in an interview about your sleep and the sleep of people in the place that you work. One interview lasting about 60 minutes.

TRUsted rEsidents and Housing Assistance to decrease Violence Exposure in New Haven

Yale University is partnering with the Urban League of Southern Connecticut to conduct a research study to help those formerly involved in the justice system and their families secure stable housing. We are looking for 1400 families to join the program.
