Dr. Black is Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. She is an Educational Psychologist and quantitative methodologist with expertise is research design, psychometric measurement, assessment, and applied statistics. Her independent research has used ecological momentary assessment (EMA) to understand the temporal association between mental health symptom experiences and risk-taking, and to measure psychological processes that predict dropout from mental health treatment. Her current work focuses on predictors of patterns of opioid prescription and misuse. Dr. Black has received independent research funding from NIH and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Since 2008, she has served as methodologist and data analyst on several NIH and VA-funded clinical trials.
