Biography
Dr. Zagar graduated from Columbia College of Columbia University in 1993 with a B.A. in premedical studies/psychology and received his medical degree in 1999 from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, followed by neurology residency at the Neurological Institute of New York, Columbia University Medical Center, where he was also Chief Resident. He also completed a Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at the Neurological Institute.
Dr. Zagar joined Associated Neurologists of Southern Connecticut in Fairfield in 2004, where he subsequently became Managing Partner, before joining as a faculty member at Yale in 2019. He practices general neurology and has specialty certification in Headache Medicine. He also has an interest in mind-body medicine and functional neurological disorders. He has been principal investigator in numerous clinical trials, in areas including migraine and Alzheimer’s disease.
He was awarded the Community Physician Medicine Teaching award at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in 2016-2017 and 2018-2019.
