YCSC Restorative Practices Information Session (Option 1)

Yale Child Study Center Friday Focus on DEIB

This month's Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) Friday Focus session will be re-purposed for one of two information sessions offered in September with Us United Restorative Practices Consultant Yasmeen Davis and YCSC Vice Chair for DEI Tara Davila to discuss some upcoming opportunities for members of the department to come together to build and sustain a vibrant community by examining and nurturing individual and collective values, shared definitions, norms and rituals.

The second (identical) session will be offered on Friday, September 27 at 11 a.m. There is no need to attend both sessions, as they will cover the same information. If you are unable to attend either, a recording and additional Q&A opportunity will be offered. YCSC community members should refer to the department's Outlook calendar for Zoom registration details.

During the info sessions, participants will:

  • Connect
  • Identify the essential elements of culture
  • Review work to engage in this coming October, December, and January
  • Answer any questions about this upcoming work

YCSC Chief Diversity Officer Tara Davila leads monthly sessions for the YCSC community throughout the academic year, with a goal of expanding professional learning. Typically held via Zoom on the second Friday of each month, participants explore different topics related to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Each Friday Focus session offers the time and space to learn together through supported reflection and conversation. Additional information is posted to the department's DEIB Events & Announcements SharePoint site. Community members should refer to the department's Outlook calendar for Zoom registration details. Contact Tara with any questions.
