Biography
Dr. Wang earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Science from Hokkaido University in 2024. During her Ph.D., Dr. Wang utilized biophysical techniques, including surface plasmon resonance (SPR), X-ray crystallography, and cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), as well as biochemical methods such as flow cytometry and recombinant protein expression and purification to investigate the mechanisms of ligand recognition by human immunoreceptors.
In 2025, Dr. Wang joined the Liu lab at Yale School of Medicine and the Yale Microbial Sciences Institute to research the structural basis of the flagellar motor in Borrelia burgdorferi, using in situ cryo-EM and cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET) to determine high-resolution 3D structures in their native state.
