The Biophysical Resource
Dr. Folta-Stogniew retired on Dec.31, 2025 and the resource is no longer available for services except for NIDA investigators who will still have access to all below listed technologies.
For NTA and DLS requests please contact: Huanxing Sun
For SPR projects: Yulia Surovtseva at Center for Molecular Discovery on West Campus,
For ITC, CD and FL: Eric Paulson at CBIC (Chemical and Biopphysical Instrumentation Center )
The Biophysical Resource is a facility operated by Keck Foundation Biotechnology Resource Laboratory at Yale University. We currently have resources to study oligomeric state of biomolecular assemblies, as well as thermodynamics and kinetics of macromolecular interactions using:
- Multiangle laser light scattering detector and dynamic light scattering detector
(MALLS and DLS) - Dynamic light scattering detector (DLS) - has been moved to PPMS for the CyTOF Facility TAC-S416, 300 Cedar Street; please contact Huanxing Sum for further information
- Isothermal microcalorimetry (ITC)
- Surface plasmon resonance - BiaCore biosensor (SPR)
- Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) - has been moved to PPMS for the CyTOF Facility TAC-S416, 300 Cedar Street; please contact Huanxing Sum for further information
- Spectrofluorometer: PTI-QuantaMaster
- Asymmetric flow Field-Flow Fractionation
- Fluorescence plate reader
- CD - spectrophotometer
