Biography
Deanna Nardella, MD joins the Yale community as a National Clinician Scholar after completing her general pediatrics training at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Nardella has a passion for scholarship and policy aimed at promoting high-quality, person-centered, equitable healthcare across the pediatric continuum. Her interests include healthcare implementation science, quality improvement and community-based participatory research, among others.
Dr. Nardella’s prior work has explored bias and discrimination in breastfeeding care, the impact of mode of delivery on the maternal/infant microbiome and designing protocols to minimize polypharmacy in juvenile corrections. Her most recent research focuses on promoting health equity in lactation care using a multilevel approach, including physician and patient education, advocacy, and research that aims to inform systemic change and policy reform.
