  • 00:16We also have what we
  • 00:17call early stage social engagement
  • 00:19programs.
  • 00:20These are programs that those
  • 00:21living with a diagnosis,
  • 00:23who are aware they have
  • 00:24a diagnosis and want to
  • 00:25be with others to socialize
  • 00:27and attend activities,
  • 00:28come together throughout many different
  • 00:30places in Connecticut to enjoy
  • 00:32time together, discuss strategies,
  • 00:34and be in a comfortable
  • 00:35environment where they know they're
  • 00:36not alone.
  • 00:38The Alzheimer's Association also provides
  • 00:40support groups throughout the state.
  • 00:42These support groups can be
  • 00:44for those, again, living with
  • 00:45a diagnosis,
  • 00:47for caregivers.
  • 00:48There are many different times
  • 00:50of day and night. We
  • 00:51even have support groups during
  • 00:53the weekend.
  • 00:54So you can be a
  • 00:55caregiver, a long distance caregiver
  • 00:56and and join a support
  • 00:57group that's virtually.
  • 00:59But we also have several
  • 01:00in person support groups that
  • 01:01we welcome you to join.
  • 01:03Again, we want no one
  • 01:04to go through this journey
  • 01:05alone.
  • 01:05We also have something called
  • 01:07the ALS connected online community.
  • 01:09It's kind of like a
  • 01:10message board where people can
  • 01:11share answers, ideas, opinions, and
  • 01:14get support from one another.
  • 01:16The Alzheimer's Association also has
  • 01:17a podcast, so if you
  • 01:19love listen listening to podcasts,
  • 01:20you can join us. It's
  • 01:22called Speaking of Alzheimer's.
  • 01:24So hopefully, you can join
  • 01:24us in that as well
  • 01:25as you're driving in the
  • 01:26car or listening to the
  • 01:27radio. You can join our
  • 01:29many, many different topics that
  • 01:31are on our podcast called
  • 01:32Speaking of Alzheimer's.
  • 01:34Something new I'd like to
  • 01:35share is what we call
  • 01:36the Owl's Journey app and
  • 01:38I hope you can all
  • 01:38download this.
  • 01:40It provides tips and resources
  • 01:42to help take control of
  • 01:44your well-being whether you are
  • 01:45a caregiver or a person
  • 01:46living with a diagnosis.
  • 01:49Again, this app has two
  • 01:50tracks.
  • 01:51One of those living for
  • 01:52those living with the disease,
  • 01:54the other for caregivers focusing
  • 01:56on the aspects of your
  • 01:57life that you find most
  • 01:59meaningful.
