Biography
Sydney Anderson graduated from the University of Virginia in 2023 with a B.A. in Psychology and Cognitive Science with a concentration in Neuroscience and a minor in English. She is interested in efficacy of and neurological responses to psychotherapy in children and adolescents. While at the University of Virginia, Sydney spent two years working as a research assistant and distinguished major thesis student at the Babylab, a developmental psychology lab directed by Dr. Tobias Grossmann. She also worked as a counselor at APEX Summer Camp at the University of Washington Autism Center in the summer of 2022. At the Sukhodolsky Lab, Sydney coordinates a clinical trial evaluating the efficacy of a comprehensive therapy for irritability in adolescents with autism. Following her time in the Sukhodolsky Lab, Sydney intends to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. When not in the lab, Sydney likes to spend her time outside (whether it be running, hiking, paddleboarding, etc), playing the viola in orchestra, and sharing meals with friends.
