Collaborative Excellence

The Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science is proud to foster outreach and recruitment efforts by curating our leadership's visible presence at national meetings with the National Medical Association (NMA), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and the Association for Research & Vision in Ophthalmology (ARVO). In addition, we have an active mentorship program to support the candidate pipeline from the Yale School of Medicine and beyond into the Department. We aim to create an inviting and inclusive culture and to become a beacon for the brightest minds to join us at the trainee, faculty, and leadership levels, and we have been inspired by the excitement the Department's efforts have generated even during an otherwise challenging period in medicine.
