Research Summary
I believe my career in medicine is founded upon two key principles. The first is a genuine desire to constantly learn from my patients so I can refine and improve my medical practice for the benefit of the next patient. The second is my sincere enjoyment in sharing my love of our work with others, especially our continuum of medical learners. As such, I like to think about how to design educational and quality improvement initiatives that have both patient and learner centric specific measurable outcomes.
For the former, what has become at times painfully obvious to me along my path is that the data I crave to solidify patient patterns and then develop teaching scripts lacks efficiency. I spend countless hours mining the medical record and tracking down families. I crave data that is time sensitive and assists in meaningful medical practice calibration. To add to this initiative, I like to think about how modifiable and non-modifiable variables that influence our cognitive functioning influence our clinical practice.
For the latter, I aim at designing highly efficient and reliable med ed curriculum that integrates my background as an educator and connects my initiatives to patient first results.
