Research Summary
My research is related to clinico-pathological and genotype-phenotype correlation studies in head and neck cancers. Over the last 18 years, I have been working on mucosal melanomas of the oral and sinonasal cavities. Melanoma is a fairly common malignancy affecting skin exposed to UV light but mucosal melanomas affect UV light protected mucosa and are rare. My publications have addressed clinicopathological, diagnostic, prognostic parameters and biomarkers, and therapeutic issues related to mucosal melanomas. Another area of my research interest is genotype-phenotype correlations in thyroid cancers.
