Research Summary
Dr. Hsu's particular interests within the field of allergy and immunology include treatment of chronic urticaria (idiopathic or autoimmune hives), angioedema (particularly hereditary angioedema), and aspirin/non-steroidal antinflammatory sensitivity (AKA aspirin exacerbated respiratory disease - AERD, or aspirin-sensitive asthma with nasal polyposis, or Samter's Triad). She ws one of first allergists in the CT/metro NYC area to routinely perform aspirin desensitizations for AERD patients in the outpatient setting.
Dr. Hsu has participated over the years in a variety of clinical trials for pharmacotherapeutics in hereditary angioedema and chronic rhinosinusitis. We are currently a site for a multicenter observational trial for patients with hereditary angioedema. Dr. Hsu also collaborates with researchers around the country on other observational clinical studies in hereditary angioedema.
