Joao P. De Aquino, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry, has been chosen to participate in the 2025 Leadership Academy hosted by the United States Association for the Study of Pain (USASP).
The program is designed to nurture rising leaders in pain research, offering skill-building opportunities to address pressing issues in the field.
As director of the NIH-funded Pain and Addiction Interaction Neurosciences (PAIN) Lab at Yale, De Aquino is dedicated to advancing innovative approaches to treating chronic pain and substance use disorders. Through his involvement in the Leadership Academy, he aims to drive the translation of scientific discoveries into practical solutions that improve patient care.
