The American Association for the Advancement of Science has elected three faculty members affiliated with Yale School of Medicine (YSM) among its 2023 fellows. AAAS says that “[E]lection as a fellow honors members whose efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications in service to society have distinguished them among their peers and colleagues.
The new fellows from YSM are:
Michael Caplan, MD, PhD, chair and C.N.H. Long Professor of Cellular & Molecular Physiology and professor of cell biology.
Vivian Irish, PhD, Eaton Professor of Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology and professor of ecology & evolutionary biology.
Frederick Sigworth, PhD, professor of cellular & molecular physiology, of biomedical engineering, and of molecular biophysics & biochemistry.
The electees from YSM join three others from Yale among the 502 newly announced AAAS fellows.
