EMD Seminar Series: Courtney Yuen, "Achieving equity and patient-centeredness in TB diagnostic services"
Tuberculosis kills more people annually than any other infectious disease despite being curable. It disproportionately affects disadvantaged populations, both globally and within the United States. Globally, around 30% of people with tuberculosis are not properly diagnosed and treated. Closing this diagnostic gap will require interventions that address disparities in access to care and patient-centered services that meet the needs of people with tuberculosis. This talk presents recent research from Peru that seeks to improve equity and patient-centeredness in the delivery of tuberculosis diagnostic services.
YSPH values inclusion and access for all participants.
