Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Through our faculty and fellows, the Section of Nephrology strives to provide innovative and compassionate care, train future leaders, and discover novel approaches for the treatment of kidney disease. In this newsletter, we highlight Anushree Shirali, MD, Rick Formica, MD, Nazanin Vaghari Mehr, MD, Dennis Moledina, MD, PhD, F. Perry Wilson, MD, Irene Chernova, MD, PhD, and Anna Qian, MD, among others, who are committed to excellence and to doing incredible work. In addition, we introduce the new Yale Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation Center of Excellence, which focuses on improving the lives of patients living with PKD.

Dr. Chang Wins Artificial Kidney Prize Phase 2 at KidneyX Summit

William Chang, MD, PhD, is a recipient of Kidney Innovation Accelerator (KidneyX) Summit’s Artificial Kidney Prize Phase 2 for research on engineering bioartificial kidneys. He was one of eight recipients who will share a $9.2 million prize announced at the organization’s event in Washington, D.C. in June.
