Alyssa Nielsen is a psychiatry resident at Yale. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Florida and while enrolled, was heavily involved with curricular reform and a free, student-run clinic network (Equal Access Clinic Network). She directed a weekly primary care site specializing in gender affirming therapy and established a psychiatry clinic.
At Yale, Alyssa serves on the Psychiatry Residents' Association as its Co-President and a member of the Medical Student Education Committee. She is passionate about community psychiatry, medical education, and investigating patients' and caregivers' perspectives of mental health care.
