Yale Health Promotion Study

Yale Health Promotion Study is a program for young adults who want to sleep better and feel healthier.

How does it work?

It uses multiple technology to deliver health information and help you discover your unique health behaviors and how you respond to them. It includes:

  • Wearable biosensor
  • A mobile application for logging health behaviors

We are currently conducting research on this program with young adults who are:

  • 18-25
  • Have a smartphone
  • Alcohol drinkers

More Information About the Study

What does this study entail?

All participants: (1) wear a sleep and health behavior biosensor and (2) complete electronic sleep and alcohol diaries. Some participants will receive personalized feedback on their health behaviors. Minimal study visits required. All participants must wear the sleep and health behavior biosensor for 6 weeks. Up to $279 in compensation is provided.

Directions and Transportation

Directions to CMHC

By Bus or Foot:

To walk from the New Haven Green Bus Depot: walk south on Temple Street, turn right onto George Street, then left onto Park Street (total 15 minutes).

Direct bus service is also provided to CMHC by the 261 Bus (CT Post Mall), whose stops include the New Haven Green as well as the University of New Haven (Orange Avenue).

By Car:

Note: parking around CMHC is limited to street or garage parking, and validation is not provided.

From I-95 South

  • Take exit 47. Once off the exit the connector begins. Follow straight to North Frontage Road, turn left onto Park Street and bear into right lane. Go through the light and CMHC is the brick building on the right-hand side.

From I-95 North

  • Take Exit 47. This exit is on the right side by the Long Wharf CT Rt. 34/Oak street connector. Follow to North Frontage Road, turn left onto Park Street and bear into right lane. Go through the light and CMHC is the brick building on the right-hand side past the Pfizer building.

From I-91 South

  • Take Exit 1. Stay on the CT Rt. 34/Oak street connector. Follow straight to North Frontage Road, turn left onto Park Street and bear into right lane. Go through the light and CMHC is the brick building on the right-hand side past the Pfizer building.
