Overview
Ashita Talsania, MBBS (a medical degree awarded in several countries outside the U.S.), is a medical oncologist with a special interest in lung cancer.
Dr. Talsania is also fellowship-trained in hematology/oncology. Hematology is the study of blood and blood disorder diseases, such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma with the goal of designing and coordinating various therapies, including immunotherapy and chemotherapy. Oncology is a branch of medicine that specializes in the study of solid cancers. In her research, Dr. Talsania explores how the use of mammograms in breast cancer and benign lesions has evolved.
She is also involved in clinical trials examining the effectiveness of various medicines on lung, ovarian, prostate, and colon cancers.
Dr. Talsania is a member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians and has received numerous awards for her teaching. She is an assistant professor of clinical medicine (medical oncology) at Yale School of Medicine.
