Millions of people across the country are hunkering down in their homes in response to social distancing mandates designed to reduce spread of the novel coronavirus. Federal and state authorities are advising people to avoid large gatherings and to keep a minimum distance of six feet of space when interacting with others. But such broad guidelines leave a lot of room for interpretation when it comes to practical applications.
