Biography

Lina Mohammed Ali is an MD-PhD student from Khartoum, Sudan and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Lina completed her undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, where she engaged in functional genomics research in the lab of Dr. William Buchser in the McDonnell Genome Institute. There, she designed a project modeling heterotypic interactions in a rheumatoid arthritis-like system. More recently, Lina's work has centered around developing machine-learning tools to perform advanced image segmentation for spatial omics utilizing biophysical simulation. Through her MD-PhD training, Lina aims to engage in basic immunological study of autoimmunity, leveraging techniques in high-content genetic screening, functional imaging, and machine learning
