Biography

Katherine is an MD-PhD s from Petaluma, California. She graduated from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts in 2022 with a dual B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and History. During her time in undergraduate schooling, she worked in the laboratory of Dr. Craig Mello in the RNA Therapeutics Institute (RTI) at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School for three and a half years, studying the role of small RNA machinery in transgenerational epigenetic inheritance. Following her graduation from Clark, she continued working in the RTI under Drs. Anastasia Khvorova and Julia Alterman, where she investigated the chemical and biological optimization and translation of siRNA therapeutics in extra hepatic tissues.
