Bismark Owusu Frimpong

Biography

Born in Ghana, Bismark moved to New York in 2017 and completed his undergraduate degree in BS Biology at Stony Brook University. At Stony Brook, Bismark spent three years working with Dr. Sandeep Mallipattu on investigating the pathophysiology of Krüppel-like factor 6 in diabetic kidney disease. His research interests cut across basic and translational work on understanding the molecular mechanisms of diseases using a range of wet and dry lab skills.

At Yale, Bismark is engaged in dissertation research in the Cantley Lab looking at aspects of the kidney inflammatory response to tubular injury. Aside research, he is an avid sports fan with interests in basketball and soccer.
