Biography

Ami is a sixth-year MD student at Yale School of Medicine. Originally from Mumbai, India, she arrived to the US in 2014 for her undergraduate studies. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2018 with a BS in Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience and a minor in Space Science and Engineering with a Space Medicine concentration. Before coming to Yale, she worked as a Research Associate at University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine where she worked on a clinical space medicine study. At Yale, Ami has been involved in HAVEN Free Clinic and has started a chapter of the Aerospace Medicine Student & Resident Organization, and has also been in involved in various teaching and mentoring roles. She is a part of the Yale Clinical Neuroscience Neuroanalytics group and is doing her thesis on identifying salivary biomarkers for seizure forecasting in epilepsy. She will apply to neurosurgery residency this summer. She is also a competitive dancer and enjoys attending social dance events in her free time.
