Dr. Zaveri will teach at the School on Collective and Synchronized Motion and its Applications at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics - South American Institute for Fundamental Research (ICTP-SAIFR) in São Paulo, Brazil, from February 8 to 14, 2025.

Ryan Bose-Roy attended Columbia Biomed Society’s 2024 Hackathon and placed third alongside group for project “HeartED,” an AI-assisted triaging platform for patients presenting with chest pain in the emergency department.

Ryan Bose-Roy, alongside team “Visionairy” placed first in the CBIT Healthcare Hackathon, winning $5,000 for work on a device-agnostic assistive AI marketplace for eye doctors that integrates directly into the PACS workflow
Meghana Chamarty, alongside team “Clarys” placed fourth in the CBIT Healthcare Hackathon, winning $1,000 after building a Convolutional Neural Network to analyze images of skin lesions to diagnose autoimmune disorders.

Ryan Bose-Roy presented at the Yale Biomed Engineering Conference and placed 2nd in the poster presentation competition.

Omar Chishti started in a doctoral program at Max Planck Berlin.
Kelly Pu ran the Chicago Marathon.

Elizabeth Watson was named a recipient of the George L. Farias Scholarship, a merit-based award for students of Hispanic origin at Yale University.

Elizabeth Watson received the Hispanic Scholar Designation from the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, selected from a pool of more than 124,000 applicants.

Ryan Bose-Roy presented at the Yale Innovation Summit on a project called "Presixion," a multimodal lateral flow assay for COVID-19, Strep, and Flu.
Elizabeth Watson was named editor-in-chief of Hippo Literary and Arts Magazine at Yale University.

Hari McGrath, Evan Collins, Kelly Pu, Omar Chishti and Drs. Sivaraju, Duckrow, Zaveri and Spencer attend the annual American Epilepsy Society meeting in Nashville, Tenn. They contribute four posters and one platform presentation.
Dr. Zaveri presents “Neuromodulation for Epilepsy” at the Seventh Annual Selected Topics in Neuroplastic & Reconstructive Surgery: An International Symposium on Head/Spine Trauma, Cranioplasty and Implantable Neurotechnologies with Cadaver Lab on December 9–11, 2022 in Miami, Fla.
A special issue entitled “The Network Theory of Epilepsy at Twenty” is announced in Frontiers in Network Physiology to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of Dr. Susan Spencer’s impactful paper on the network theory of epilepsy. The special issue will be edited by Drs. Zaveri, Lehnertz (University of Bonn) and Spencer.

Dr. Zaveri presents “The Network Theory of Epilepsy” at the Yale Neuroscience Grand Rounds.

The lab receives a NIH UG3 award for the NeuroProbe project (PIs: Spencer, Reed, Nami and Zaveri). The goal of the project is to develop a device for intracranial multimodal physiological monitoring in traumatic brain injury (TBI), obtain an IDE from the FDA, and complete a clinical trial at Yale.
Evan Collins begins his doctoral studies in biomedical engineering at MIT.
Marcus Woods joins the lab to work on a virtual reality interface for the Yale Brain Atlas.
Dr. Nami leaves Yale University for Apple.

Tamara Jafar completes her year as a postgraduate research associate at the lab.
