The role of Granulin, a TLR-9 protein cofactor, and cytidine deaminase deficiency in the development of autoimmune diabetes in NOD mice

Dr. Li Wen M.D., Primary Investigator

  • Performed intraocular exsanguination, oral gavage, urinalysis and glucose analysis on murine models.
  • Extracted Pancreatic, Mesenteric lymph nodes, as well as whole pancreas and Peyer’s patch samples.
  • Performed PCR, qPCR, flow cytometry, Western Blot, and DNA analysis.

Uridine 5’-Triphosphate (UTP) as a propagator of arteriogenesis in response to femoral artery occlusion

Dr. Ryan McEnaney M.D., Primary Investigator

  • Performed femoral artery ligations, employed LDPI, and pressure testing within a murine model.
  • Fluent in IHC, IF, H&E staining, cell culture, confocal microscopy, and Western Blotting techniques
  • Regularly performed tissue preparation employing cryostat and formalin fixation techniques

Research Assistant, University of Pittsburgh January – June 2014

Prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) in prostate cancer pathogenesis and as a potential novel marker

Drs. Denise O’Keefe Ph.D. and Dean Bacich Ph.D., Primary Investigators

  • Analyzed the effects of folic acid supplementation on tumor proliferation within a murine model.
  • Employed the use of both in vivo knockout murine models and in vitro tumor colonies.
  • Responsible for maintaining and genotyping a murine breeding program.
  • Routinely preformed both Classical and RT-PCR analyses of cell lines and study mice
  • Isolated RNA and performed cDNA transformation of murine genetic materials.
