Zhang Selected as American Psychiatric Association Foundation Leadership Fellow

August 07, 2024

Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) first-year clinical fellow Richard Zhang was recently selected by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Foundation as a Leadership Fellow as part of the foundation’s pipeline program for future careers in psychiatry.

This two-year position, concurrent with Zhang’s subspecialty training at Yale, provides opportunities to receive mentorship from national leaders in psychiatry and network with other selected fellows interested in leadership. He will also observe and serve on one of APA’s specialized Councils.

The annual selection process for this fellowship is competitive, with typically 20 residents and fellows chosen nationwide based on holistic clinical, scholarly, and leadership abilities.

Zhang has previously served as APA’s Resident-Fellow Member Representative for Area 1 (New England and Eastern Canada) and as 2023-2024 Chair of APA’s Assembly Committee of Area Resident-Fellow Members.
