Yale Surgery 7th Annual Research Day

The Yale School of Medicine Department of Surgery's seventh annual Research Day will be held on April 26, 2024. The event features over 80 cl and basic science abstracts. Topics included racial and gender diversity, whole-genome duplication, upper extremity amputation and replantation, and artificial intelligence-based analysis.

Robert A. Montgomery, MD, PhD, H. Leon Pachter Chair and Professor of Surgery and director of the NYU Langone Transplant Institute, will deliver the keynote address, “The Story of an Unlikely Personal and Professional Transplant Odyssey.”

Robert A. Montgomery, MD, DPhil, is the Chairman and Professor of Surgery at NYU Langone Health and the Director of the NYU Langone Transplant Institute. He received his Doctor of Medicine with Honor from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He received his Doctor of Philosophy from Balliol College, The University of Oxford, England in Molecular Immunology. Montgomery completed his general surgical training, multi-organ transplantation fellowship, and postdoctoral fellowship in Human Molecular Genetics at Johns Hopkins. For over a decade he served as the Chief of Transplant Surgery and the Director of the Comprehensive Transplant Center at Johns Hopkins.
