Alyssa Nielsen is a psychiatry resident at Yale. She grew up in Florida and attended Tulane University where she studied neuroscience and dance. As a part of a 7-year combined B.S.-M.D. program, she transferred to the University of Florida. In medical school, Alyssa was elected to serve as a student representative on the curriculum committee and was heavily involved with a free, student-run clinic network (Equal Access Clinic Network). She directed a weekly primary care site specializing in gender affirming therapy and established a monthly psychiatry clinic.
