Fall 2024

Yale Ob/Gyn is excited to announce the addition of four new faculty members. They complement our Maternal-Fetal Medicine [MFM], Gyn Specialties, and Gynecologic Oncology divisions, as well as fill the vice chair of education position.

Tulin Ozcan, MD [upper left], joins MFM after most recently working in the MFM Division at Innova Medical Campus in Fairfax, Virginia.

Previously, Ozcan was a faculty member at the University of Rochester, the Children's Hospital in Philadelphia, and Case Western University.

She completed two postdoctoral research roles at Yale School of Medicine in the Departments of Ob/Gyn and Molecular Biology & Genetics. She also did her MFM fellowship here. She completed her medical degree and residency training in Ankara, Turkey.

Angela Qu, DO [upper right], joins our GYN Specialties Division. Earlier this year, she completed a minimally invasive gynecologic surgery fellowship while at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.

But Qu is no stranger to the Northeast. She was an undergrad in Boston and worked as a clinical research coordinator at the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center for several years.

She completed her residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center/MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and her DO degree at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York.

Catherine Salva, MD, MSEd [lower left], is our new vice chair of education and now leading all the department's educational efforts. She was serving at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania [HUP], where she was Ob/Gyn residency program director and director of gynecology services.

She received her medical degree at Colombia College of Physicians and Surgeons, did her residency training at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University Sloane Hospital for Women, and completed her master's in medical education from the University of Pennsylvania.

Salva is especially passionate about recruiting and supporting a diverse trainee cohort.

Aparna Kailasam [pronounced Ky-la-sum], MD, MBA, MS [lower right], is the newest addition to our gynecologic oncology division. She will split her clinical time between Smilow in New Haven and Stamford Hospital.

She comes to us from Mayo Clinic, where she completed a GynOnc fellowship in June and obtained a master’s in clinical and translational science from the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. She finished her residency training at St. Francis in Hartford and her MBA and MD from the University of Denver and Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, respectively.
