Yale Developmental Disabilities Clinic
The Developmental Disabilities Clinic is committed to serving autistic children, adolescents, and adults as well as those with related conditions.
Multidisciplinary Evaluations
Comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluations are provided by a team of experienced clinical faculty, trained postgraduate fellows, and practicum students at the Child Study Center. These evaluations take place over a two-day period and focus on diagnosis, determination of strengths and weaknesses, and informing educational programming intervention. Each evaluation has four components: psychological testing (including neuropsychological or academic assessment), speech-language testing, evaluation of adaptive functioning, and psychiatric assessment. The clinical team works together to provide a single report with a particular emphasis on recommendations for intervention and educational planning.
Social Skills Groups
Faculty at both the Yale Child Study Center and the Developmental Disabilities Clinic offer several autism social skills groups for various ages. These groups focus on helping participants connect with peers and develop coping skills. If you would like additional information or would like to add your name to a waitlist for an opening at one of these groups, please fill out a brief form and someone will contact you with more details.
