Alcohol Research Study
We are currently recruiting participants for an alcohol research study involving fMRI scans.
You will be compensated for the study participation.
If you’re 21-55 and have one or more of the following:
- A desire to cut down on drinking
- Early life adversity (childhood difficulties)
- Consider yourself a heavy or binge drinker OR
- Are healthy and drink occasionally

Study Timeline
Based on intakes and eligibility, you will be assigned to one of these two procedures.
Track I (8-weeks + follow-up)

5-6 Intakes (remote, up to 2 hours each)
- The intake process includes questionnaires, assessments, and in-depth interviews.
- Two fMRI sessions (pre and post treatment, 2 hours each)

8-week psychosocial intervention
- 2 therapy sessions per week (2 hours each)
- Smartphone app surveys (20-30 min daily)
- Post-treatment session (1 session, 2-3 hours)

Follow-up (90 days)
- 90-day smartphone app surveys (10-15 min daily)
- Follow-up evaluation sessions at 14, 30, 90 days (1-2 appointments, 4-5 hours) Expected duration: 5.5 months, 45-48 hours total
Track II (2-weeks + follow-up)

- One fMRI session (2 hours)

- 30-day smartphone app surveys (10-15 min daily)
Expected duration: 1.5 months, 10-12 hours total
