  • 5/15/22: Dr. Zhang was awarded the NIH NIDA's Avenir Award as a DP2 grant for research on opioid use disorder, HIV, and related neuroinflammation. DP2 grant title: "Immune Network Dysregulation of the Central Nervous System with HIV Persistence and Opioid Abuse." The Avenir Awards program recognizes early-career investigators whose research significantly further the understanding of addiction science.

  • 9/15/21: Dr. Zhang was awarded the first NIH grant as R56 from the NIA to investigate sex difference, genetic risk, and drug responsiveness in Alzheimer's disease. R56 grant title: "Sex-Specific Single Cell Expression Profiles, Genetic Risk and Drug Responsiveness in Alzheimer's Disease"

  • 5/1/21: Dr. Zhang was selected as the Research Scholar at the Yale Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC): The ADRC seeks to identify and promote the career development of a diverse group of promising junior investigators with an interest in dementia research. This award is aimed at junior faculty within the first five year of their appointment, although exception are possible for mid-level faculty entering the field of dementia research.
