Biography
Anthony Cifre is the predoctoral Pediatric Psychology Fellow at the Yale Child Study Center. He earned his undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology from West Virginia University and his master's degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Sport Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University. Currently, he is a doctoral candidate in the Clinical Child Psychology program at the University of Houston. As a graduate student at Texas Children's Hospital, Anthony trained in the inpatient pediatric oncology service, working with children and families facing chronic illnesses and psychosocial concerns, and in the Preschool Program, focusing on treating disruptive and oppositional behaviors in preschool-aged children. He also trained at the Sleep and Anxiety Center of Houston, providing cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia to children, adolescents, and adults. His research centers on sleep health disparities in marginalized populations, such as youth in foster care and gender/sexual minorities. Clinically, he specializes in psychosocial adjustment to chronic childhood illnesses like obstructive sleep apnea, cancer, and disorders of gut-brain interaction, using practical, evidence-based strategies and partnering with families for support.
