Biography


Born in Texas, Ayodola completed her undergraduate degree at Harvard University, with a cum laude plus thesis project on the effect of visual impairment on children’s self-concept. She received two Masters degrees—one in Biology Education at Pace University and one in Neuroscience and Education at Columbia University , prior to medical school at Ross. She was a former tenured high school teacher at the Thomas Jefferson High School campus, in East New York , currently serves as an active mentor in her community. She is the author of, "Look at My Eyes” - a children's book for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder; contributed chapters to the Encyclopedia of Autism; and has a passion for publishing more story book and interactive books for children and their families. She facilitates a monthly meet up for NYC creatives, The Right Brain Gathering, which provides artists an open communal space for exploration of mental and emotional states. She also curated an interactive art gallery titled, ‘FEELS: Exploring Emotional Spectrums through Art,’ in Brooklyn, NY, with multi-media art work presented by NY based and international artists which served as a provocative medium for mindfulness practice. She is interested in mindfulness and the utilization of creative/expressive arts as a therapeutic modality in her clinical work, and curating/facilitating experiences which welcome the intersectionality of mental heath and the arts. She is a fluent Spanish-speaker.
