Four faculty members from the Yale School of Medicine (YSM) Department of Internal Medicine were involved in developing a national guideline for the screening, monitoring, and treatment of interstitial lung disease in patients with rheumatic conditions. Lung disease is a major source of morbidity and mortality in patients with systemic sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases.
Danielle Antin-Ozerkis, MD, associate professor of medicine (pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine), Lenore Buckley, MD, MPH, professor of medicine (rheumatology, allergy, and immunology) and of pediatrics, Vaidehi Chowdhary, MBBS, MD, associate professor of medicine (rheumatology, allergy, and immunology), and Monique Hinchcliff, MD, MS, associate professor of medicine (rheumatology, allergy, and immunology), contributed to the creation of the 2023 American College of Rheumatology (ACR)/American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) Guideline for the Screening and Monitoring of Interstitial Lung Disease in People with Systemic Autoimmune Rheumatic Diseases.
