Demystifying the Semantic Landscape of Scientific Literature
Dr. Brian Ondov is an Associate Research Scientist at the Yale School of Medicine Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science. He earned his Ph.D in Computer Science at University of Maryland ,College Park, supported by a prestigious training award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Ondov’s research portfolio is extensive, encompassing Computational Genomics, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Human-Computer Interaction. Leveraging his multidisciplinary expertise , his current work delves into the applications of Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance the interaction between researchers, healthcare professionals and biomedical knowledge sources. In this talk, Dr. Ondov will present his latest research on using LLM embeddings to map and navigate the complex landscape of scientific literature, offering insights into how these high- dimensional spaces can be decoded to explore existing topics and identify uncharted semantic territories.
