The Yale pathology and laboratory medicine residency is designed to train leaders in pathology and laboratory medicine as exemplary diagnosticians, investigators, and educators through a flexible curriculum that values curiosity, creativity, diversity, teamwork, and well-being. We provide education in subspecialized and generalist settings focused on outstanding patient care and impactful scholarly pursuits with opportunities for professional development to support individual career goals.
Yale’s pathology and laboratory medicine residency is an ACGME accredited training program offered through Yale School of Medicine and Yale New Haven Hospital. We offer multiple training tracks, including a four-year program in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP), and three-year programs in AP-only and CP-only. For those seeking careers as physician-scientists, AP-only, AP/CP, and CP-only tracks can also be combined with a physician-scientist track to offer specialized opportunities in research.
