Mark L. Meyer, M.D. ’94, J.D. ’98, began his tenure as an Alumni Fund agent in 2015, and in July 2019, was appointed to co-chair of agents. For the Alumni Fund, Dr. Meyer has helped his cohort of classmates expand its participation rate and stay a consistent and supportive part of the School of Medicine donor base. He also served as the gift co-chair for his class’s 25th reunion in 2019. Dr. Meyer has served as an at-large member of the Association of Yale Alumni in Medicine Executive Committee from 2010 to 2014, and 2016 to 2019, and is a member of the AYAM Alumni Fund Committee. In 2018, he collaborated with several members to promote and pilot a new student-alumni mentor matching program for YSM students. Dr. Meyer’s volunteer interests expand beyond the medical school and in July 2019, was elected to serve on the university’s Alumni Fund board.
A loyal Alumni Fund donor for over twenty years, and a generous leadership donor with increasing amounts over the past decade, Dr. Meyer understands the importance of a strong annual fund and has inspired many alumni to join him in his philanthropy. He has strong ties to the medical school and is continually seeking opportunities that will directly benefit our students, faculty, and alumni. Dr. Meyer is one of our most dedicated volunteers, and we are excited to work with him in the coming year.
In this new responsibility, Dr. Meyer will work alongside co-chair, Phil Lebowitz, M.D. ’72, to engage volunteers to foster relationships and strengthen connections to the school. They will support and mentor class agents and collaborate with staff in their efforts to raise unrestricted financial support for the medical school.
We are grateful for Dr. Meyer’s leadership in this new role and look forward to connecting him with our cadre of class agents in support of YSM.
