Vivek Kulkarni, M.D. ’14, was appointed to the board of directors of the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) at its May 2015 meeting. The NRMP was established in 1952 to provide an orderly and fair mechanism for matching the preferences of applicants for residency positions with the preferences of residency program directors. Kulkarni is an internal medicine resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston Massachusetts. He graduated summa cum laude with an A.B. degree in Mathematics and Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis and received M.D. and M.H.S. degrees from Yale. While at Yale, he served on the Curriculum Redesign and Admissions Committees and won several research awards, including a Clinical Research Fellow award from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. He is an ad-hoc reviewer in Internal Medicine for the Journal of the American Medical Association.
