Our Center
Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. An estimated 5.7 million Americans of all ages have Alzheimer's disease, with more than 77,000 in the state of Connecticut alone.
The Yale Alzheimer's Disease Research Center is funded by the National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Aging (NIA) .
The Yale Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center’s goal is to advance the understanding and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease through research, clinical trials, and career development for Alzheimer researchers, community outreach and education. Emphasis will be the translational development of research findings into therapeutic benefit. The Center will share data and research results with other researchers who are also studying this disease.
The Center will connect with the communities of Connecticut to educate families burdened with AD, both with regard to hopeful directions of research and to resources for clinical care and emotional support.
