Online BNI Workshop
The BNI Workshop is an online training workshop incorporating a virtual coach and virtual standardized patients. The coach motivates and teaches the BNI protocol. The virtual patients provide practice and intrinsic reinforcement. The program will comprise of a virtual coach, a virtual patient, and web–based training materials. The coach will introduce the problem of substance abuse, motivate the need for brief intervention, and explain the BNI. It will supervise the resident’s practice with a virtual patient. After a practice session, the coach will provide personalized feedback and remediation: objective, step–by–step scores on BNI adherence; detailed feedback explaining the scores and quoting relevant interview exchanges; and constructive suggestions for improving adherence.
