CT Mental Health Transformation State Incentive Grant

The State of Connecticut is one of 7 states nationwide to win a competitive grant through SAMHSA to promote mental health systems transformation. This grant funds the continuing development of a recovery-oriented system of mental health care in which state and local systems work together seamlessly to offer all of the state’s citizens, across the lifespan, an array of effective, accessible services and recovery supports to prevent mental illness and promote resilience and recovery.

The State Departments of Children and Families, Correction, Higher Education, Information Technology, Insurance, Labor, Mental Retardation, Public Health, Social Services, Education, Veteran Affairs, and the Office of Policy and Management, the Judicial Branch and the Commission on Aging all play collaborative roles in this transformation effort.

The specific role of PRCH in this effort is to conduct a statewide mental health needs assessment and to conduct a process and outcome evaluation.
