PRCH, Witnesses to Hunger Partner on Training Program

January 22, 2024

The Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health (PRCH) partnered with Witnesses to Hunger in New Haven to conduct a six-week advocacy training program between January 3 and February 7.

The training honed the skills of Witnesses to Hunger leaders and members to more effectively advocate for legislation to address the root causes of food insecurity in New Haven and across Connecticut.

Witnesses to Hunger is a New Haven anti-hunger advocacy organization founded and led by people with lived experiences of food insecurity and poverty.

The training was facilitated by Ta’LannaMonique Lawson-Dickerson, a community organizer at Citywide Youth Coalition and at the New Haven PRIDE Center. She is affiliated with the Yale Department of Psychiatry as community chair of the Structural Competency track within the Social Justice and Health Equity curriculum. She is also an active member of Elm City COMPASS’s community advisory board.

PRCH has been proud to work with and support Witnesses to Hunger since the New Haven chapter was founded 10 years ago.
