Responsible Conduct of Research Training

April 13, 2022

Beginning this spring, 2022 the first-year MD-PhD students have their own RCR training as a separate cohort from the MS1 students. Facilitated by MD-PhD Program Associate Directors, students now engage in thoughtful discussions and role-play of case scenarios that challenge students to engage with the complexities of fraudulant or questionable research practices, collaborative science and social responsibilities as physician-scientists. We felt that two-hour didactic lectures did not sufficiently immerse the students in critical RCR training. RCR principles are now intercalated throughout the MD-PhD curricula and in a way that we hope is more fun and engaging!
