11:30 AM-12:00 PM BrainWorks Tour 11:30am Wu Tsai Center - 100 College Street Join Roeland Hancock, PhD, Director, for a tour of BrainWorks, a new world-class facility for measuring the healthy human brain and behavior in action. This facility houses state-of-the-art equipment, including MRI, SQUID and triaxial OPM MEG, EEG, NIRS, TMS, VR, eye-tracking, and body motion tracking. Learn how the technologies work, their use in cognitive neuroscience research, the unique features of BrainWorks, and highlights of the innovative science being done at Yale.

12:30 PM-1:30 PM Anatomy Lab Tour 12:30pm TAC 221 Join William Stewart, PhD, Associate Professor of Surgery (Gross Anatomy), and Charles C. Duncan, MD, Senior Research Scientist and Professor Emeritus (Neurosurgery) along with other faculty and students for a tour of the Anatomy Lab. The tour will begin with a demonstration of the primary resource for our students, Guided Anatomy accessible from any device including the computers at every dissection table. Those who wish may try HoloLens devices that provide holographic views of anatomy models and diagnostic imaging. As the group proceeds to the Anatomy Lab, you will see the many years of student artwork honoring the donors. Once in the Anatomy Lab, alumni will see the improved learning environment, including larger space, upgraded downdraft ventilation, and networked computers. Limited capacity, pre-registration requested. University policy does not permit children 17 years old and younger to enter the laboratory space.
2:00 PM-3:00 PM Reunion Kick-Off: Managing Change in a Tumultuous Health Care Environment Harkness Lawn Join Nancy J. Brown, Jean and David W. Wallace Dean of the Yale School of Medicine and C.N.H. Long Professor of Internal Medicine, as she welcomes alumni & guests back to campus followed by a conversation hosted by Professor Howie Forman with Vicente Diaz, MD ’05, MBA ’05, Michael Sherling, MD ’02, MBA’02, and Mallika L Mendu, MD ’09, MBA ’09, three Yale MD/MBA alumni who have achieved success as health care leaders while remaining active clinicians. Collectively, they are entrepreneurs, academicians, administrative and operational leaders—and exemplars of the Yale System of Medical Education. The structure of the session will include introductory questions by Professor Forman, followed by a moderated Q&A with our alumni panel.
3:00 PM-3:45 PM Clinical Skills Practice Spaces Tour Harkness Basement ESH20 (Entrance is on 35 York St.) Take a tour of the Clinical Skills Exam Room practice space on the lower level of Harkness Hall. Dr. Jaideep Talwalkar, Director of Clinical Skills, and students will share highlights of the space, which now includes seven new exam rooms, a brand new 52 seat flexible teaching space, and a lounge/prep area for our simulated participants. All rooms have been updated with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, video cameras, wide screen monitors, and updated exam equipment, ultra-sound capability, otoscopes, ophthalmoscopes and two-way viewing windows. 4:00 PM-4:45 PM Cushing Center & Special Collections and Treasures Tour Library Circulation Area Don’t miss the Cushing Center, as unique as its collection, named for 1891 Yale College graduate Harvey Cushing, M.D., the father of modern neurosurgery. The Cushing Center houses more than the 400 jars of patients’ brains and tumors; the center offers a selection from Cushing’s rare book collection, Cushing’s skillful surgical illustrations and dramatic black and white portraits of his patients.
5:30 PM-9:00 PM Cocktail Hour and Buffet Dinner Harkness Hall: Café Med, Lounge, Patio Mingle with fellow alumni and guests over cocktails and then enjoy a sumptuous dinner buffet. Linger over cordials and continued conversation.
7:30 PM-10:00 PM Yale School of Medicine Symphony Harkness Auditorium The Yale Medical Symphony Orchestra (YMSO) was founded in 2007. Composed of students, trainees, staff, and faculty from YSM and YNHH, YMSO has brought music to the medical center, helping to enrich the culture of humanities in medicine in our community.

9:30 AM-10:45 AM Dean's update & AYAM meeting, Distinguished Alumni Service Award TAC Auditorium Nancy J. Brown, Jean and David W. Wallace Dean of the Yale School of Medicine and C.N.H. Long Professor of Internal Medicine, will share the latest news from YSM and her vision for the future. Her address will be followed by a Q&A, and then the AYAM Annual Meeting. AYAM president, Dr. J. McLeod (Mac) Griffiss ’66, will present the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Service Award and the slate of nominees for open positions on the AYAM Executive Committee.
11:00 AM-11:30 AM Kushlan Society Induction - Class of 1974 50th Reunion TAC Auditorium This year we welcome back the class of 1974 to celebrate their 50th year since graduation. They will be inducted into the Kushlan Society, a tradition started in 2012 and named after Samuel Kushlan '35, a mentor and role model for generations of physicians who trained at Yale.
