activity Photoplethysmographic Waveforms from the Oesophagus, Bowel and Brain
Abstract/SynopsisThis project is a collaborative effort involving teams of clinicians and engineers committed to extracting clinically relevant information from the photoplethysmograph (pulse oximeter waveform). This is accomplished by the use of state-of-the-art digital signal processing. The primary goal is the understanding of the underlying physiology responsible for observed phenomena. The secondary goal is the utilization of this understanding to develop new methods of patient monitoring.
