Several Yale Ob/Gyn residents showcased their work to colleagues and mentors at the 12th Annual State of Connecticut Obstetrics and Gynecology Residents' Research Day.
Residents Research Day was hosted by Bridgeport Hospital in partnership with the Connecticut American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists and held at the Yale West Campus Conference Center.
The event began with welcoming remarks from Stephen Thung, MD, and Jean Torantore, MD.
Shefali Pathy, MD, MPH, and Julia Cron, MD, site chief of obstetrics and gynecology at New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, then spoke about local and regional opportunities for advocacy.
The day continued with oral and poster presentations:
Aliah Fonteh, MD, PGY2 – oral presentation on “Assessing the Impact of an Interdisciplinary Pregnancy Hypertension Alert System to Reduce Morbidity/Mortality Associated with Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy"
Grace Jarmoc, MD, PGY1 – oral presentation on how “Unscheduled Cesarean Deliveries Increase Blood Loss”
Asley Goreshnik, MD, PGY3 – poster presentation on “The Utility of Vulvar Pap Smears in Vulvar Cancer Surveillance”
Dr. Jarmoc was awarded best oral presentation.
