Stanley Possick, MD, associate clinical professor of psychiatry, recently gave an interview about schizophrenia to the community television program "Keep Talking" in Brattleboro, VT.
Possick was in Vermont to present at a full-day conference at Brattleboro Retreat called, "Listening to the Schizophrenic Person." He was interviewed by "Keep Talking" host Gay Maxwell about schizophrenia, and spoke about what he has learned in his 40-year career.
Possick talked in the interview about the symptoms, challenges, and treatments for schizophrenia, and explained why people who seek treatment have many reasons to hope for positive outcomes.
"Keep Talking" is a community television program co-produced by Brattleboro Retreat, a nonprofit mental health and addictions treatment center in southern Vermont.
Possick has been an active teacher and mentor of non-analyst trainees at Yale, and has served as the Education Coordinator for the Long Term Psychotherapy Program at Yale. He has taught numerous courses and training sessions, and was an inpatient ward chief, the director of inpatient services, medical director of outpatient services, and acting chief of adult psychiatry at the Yale Psychiatric Institute from 1979-1993.
